Stepping up to bring our environmental impact down

We led the way in putting our climate targets on an accountable, science-based, transparent footing by working with the SBTi to commit to abating at least 90% of our 2019 baseline emissions by 2040 at the latest. Any residual emissions will be neutralised through offsets that permanently remove and store carbon from the atmosphere, at the net zero target year and each year thereafter. This builds on our previously announced near-term science-based targets to reduce absolute scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% and to source 100% renewable electricity worldwide by 2030.

This validation of our net zero target ensures that we are acting to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in a way that is consistent with the objectives of the 2015 Paris Agreement.

We are also changing the way we travel, using emissions transparency to enable colleagues to make more informed choices when making travel decisions, and our teleconferencing and telepresence systems make it easier to communicate with you and our other clients without the need to jump in a car, catch a train or hop on a plane.

We are collaborating with suppliers to ensure that 50% of our spend on capital goods and purchased goods and services will be covered by validated science-based targets by 2025. Our commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals extends to working with our clients. We aim to enable those who create, deliver and implement low carbon solutions and technologies, to support the transition to a lower carbon world.
